Reading 6: Writing, Writing and more Writing.

Have I ever told you that I love writing ? No? I love writing. I don't know why or how since I'm terrible at writing but there you go.

Honestly it's weird going back and writing this, it feels weird reading what I written last week, feel more like I written it a month ago and it doesn't help that I see all these blue lines too. I feel like a wrote a lot last week and now I feel like I've written too little this week ! Maybe it's because my source are all different and a few are on different topics ? I feel like if I just focus on the history side of things, I would be fine but then shouldn't that be it's own chapters ?

Does a game developer need to know the history of video games ? What is my part really all about ? Should I have thought about this before I started writing ? Yeah, probably.

I'm not 100% sure if I'm doing the right thing, so it's making me uncertain on writing, the good thing is next week we have no uploads, expect maybe unity? So I'll be able to write more and work on the body more.

I just feel really tired and sleepy, so I'm gonna go now.

Unity tutorial 06: Thanks Google and Unity!

FINALLY I'm done this unity tutorial ! Oh my god you have know idea how long this took me. First Chrome decided not to work, like at all, I don't know since it wasn't my wi-fi or laptop since Firefox work fine for me, so why ? No idea. Cheers Google ! Screenshot taken by me. Pretty good actually, once unity stopped messing me around, I actually didn't have a bad time. I guess my only problem is this error which I can't figure for the life of me what it's on about: Null Reference ? What you on about Unity ? Screenshot taken by me. Seriously Unity telling me Null Reference is like telling me my Dad wants me, I've no clue what you're talking about. Anywho apart from this error, I feel like this was the most useful tutorial so far, the others were great for getting back into things while learning a few new tricks but...

Thoughts on the Assignment

I recently got an assignment and I have a few thoughts on it. The bit of the assignment that I'm most excited about is the unity-3D tutorial, I have unity on my laptop and was learning about gaming making before but it was 2D. Also the unity I had is now out-of-date and won't open for me. I know whatever my first 3D game is, it's going to be horrible and buggy but that's okay. None of 2D game even work so having this one actually work is a improvement in my eyes. I'm not sure how I feel about the reading, I've written academic essay before about readings but I don't like writing them, I find them very boring to write but I think most people do and since we have to them maybe it won't be so bad ? I don't know how to feel about the blog commenting, on one hand it's a good idea we get to see other people's work and how all of us can improved. On the other hand however, it doesn't sound very interesting and I don't know how people ...

Unity tutortial 07

Another week, another unity tutorial this time I'm not following along with Jimmy Vegas' tutorial series and instead following another series of tutorial to learn how to put an inventory in my game ! In particular, this video Unity Inventory UI Tutorial which is a 3d inventory ! Thank god, every fucking tutorial I looked for inventory were for 2d games, not 3d. I did find a blog as well but when I did try to follow along, it didn't go so well so I decide to ditch that and found a 5 minute video.
