Unity Tutorial 02: Proofing how much of a Dope I am

Hi It's me, the local idiot that you've seen in college, that hides in the corner away from people. Yes I'm back, doing the Unity tutorial, I know Tragedy, buy me a KISS coffin and then I'll leave this planet Maybe. Anywho, let's talk about Unity, Oh god forget the coffin, I already feel the urge to end it all, So since my first 3D game is something I never want to think about, Just like how my Dad doesn't want to think about me , I've decided to restart and pretend it never happened, just like my Dad, didn't go too great for him, all hope is gone already for me lads.

This time instead of going to Jimmy, sorry Jimmy but once was enough and now your boring me. We're doing the Unity Tutorial by uh, Unity ! Now the videos are highly detail, going through step by step and great for beginners but I said F to that! I'm a 2nd year college student who so sad, that she's spends her summer bringing other people's kids away, I don't have time to watch a 4 minute video on how to set up a project, I'm bad at Unity but not this bad !

So I read the text at the bottom and quickly flew through the tutorial. Suddenly there was a problem, I went to test the FollowPlayer script, press play, not only did the camera not follow the car but the car slam into a crate and went flying off the road ! To say I didn't burst me heart laughing and replayed  it over and over again for a minute would be a lie.

After replying it, I went to fixing the problem, undoing the script until it was back to the start and this is where the title comes in, I realized I never attached the script to the camera, yep I forgot to attached the script to the camera. So I fix it, play it, didn't work and realized I never stated who the player (aka the car) was, Absolute Dope I am.

Other than that complete stupidity, the tutorial was grand, I feel like I know most but that I'm learning stuff as well, so yeah, I'm a idiot and the unity tutorial are fine so far.

Unity tutortial 07

Another week, another unity tutorial this time I'm not following along with Jimmy Vegas' tutorial series and instead following another series of tutorial to learn how to put an inventory in my game ! In particular, this video  Unity Inventory UI Tutorial  which is a 3d inventory ! Thank god, every fucking tutorial I looked for inventory were for 2d games, not 3d. First Playable

Project update time! So this week I've been working hard on the axe side of things, I wanted allow the player to be able to pick up the axe and swing it. However I learnt something that I hope wasn't true but sadly is, You can't reused scripts!! I tried to reused the Axe Swing script from jimmy Vegas and it work, but when I recreated it, it did work ! Unity you picky bastard you. Oh yeah I also made a building too, screen shot taken by Me. I also work on taking the axe out of the wall but had to focus on the ray-casting which was a pain in the ass because I completely forgot about it and had to go back to work on it. Honestly I've spent more then 3 hours working on this and while I'm proud of what I've done so far, I also sad because I really wanted to get to the first playable stage of the game but haven't be able to, Hell I still haven't gotten to the player able to take the damn axe out of the damn wall yet. Unity tutorial 06: Thanks Google and Unity!

FINALLY I'm done this unity tutorial ! Oh my god you have know idea how long this took me. First Chrome decided not to work, like at all, I don't know since it wasn't my wi-fi or laptop since Firefox work fine for me, so why ? No idea. Cheers Google ! Screenshot taken by me. Oh and the Unity video froze again , then it crashed. I feel you buddy, screenshot taken by me. So how did the tutorial go ? Pretty good actually, once unity stopped messing me around, I actually didn't have a bad time. I guess my only problem is this error which I can't figure for the life of me what it's on about: Null Reference ? What you on about Unity ? Screenshot taken by me. Seriously Unity telling me Null Reference is like telling me my Dad wants me, I've no clue what you're talking about. Anywho apart from this error, I feel like this was the most useful tutorial so far, the others were great for getting back into things while learning a few new tricks but...
