Week 9 Reading and Writing.

This week reading is, not an reading but instead a reflection on the readings in general. A look back on the work and how much I've done, let's discuss. Overall, I think I did the best I could for the reading but improved along the way. I felt that my impersonal writing became stronger from doing the readings, though I admit not being to use "Me" or "I" was difficult.

I feel the readings did help me, as learned more about game design through the reading, I never realized how much theoretical thought went into games, I knew planning and development did, but I never thought about the theoretical side of games. I feel the reading help with my game, as I'm trying to follow the MDA system and keep the idea of different "fun"s in mind.

The readings also help increase my research and reading strategies. I did politics and Society for the leaving cert, but that was 1 (2? I can't remember) year ago, so I haven't been keeping up those skills. Now Not only do I feel I've retrain those skill but I'm actually improved !

Last time I talked about my game project, I was disappointed with my game project and my first playable. However I should make it clear, overall I'm happy with my project! I mean it's not gonna win game of the year but you able to walk around, I'm planning where to put items, I'm hoping to get the axe working tonight, before moving onto UI or enemies (probably UI to be honest). I know my project is going great but it's also not crashing anytime I tried to open it, so I can still improve it, work on it and get it to where I need to get it.

Overall I'm not sad or depressed over my project. I just need to work harder on it.

I picked this image as my favourite image from the readings, because I like how I added X-Com (2012) into the reading, I needed an image then it hit me when I was reading the readings. I felt this image tied into the reading and I don't know, I think I was proud of it, even though it's mine. I also played X-com and I can tell you that heavy is gonna miss badly. Heavies have the worst aim and will miss 99% shot, trust me it happened to me, bastard.

Now it's time to look forward, I want to improve my reading skills, while I'm not a slow reader I believe I can improve my reading skill, as it would help with writing and meant I would take an hour to read. I also need to improve my spelling skill, I would love to be able to spell words like especially, without needing to click on the red line under the word or having to ask google how to spell it. Finally I would like to improve my writing speed, I feel I write slower then most people and I want to improve my speed.

FINALLY I'm done this unity tutorial ! Oh my god you have know idea how long this took me. Game Idea Research

Last week I talk about Games the ideas I like to do, after a bit more thinking, I think I know what idea I'm gonna do and I'm gonna talk about it in this blog. I think the game I would like to recreate is Terraria or at least the boss aspect about it. I started researching into how would I go about it, Luckily our good old friend Jimmy Vegas has videos about how to create an rpg and more importantly how to create Boss AI.  Jimmy Vegas' Video here.  This might be able to help me and since this part of a series, the whole series might be able to help ! I also looked into an inventory system for my games, I found a blog about how to add an inventory system, which you can read  Here . This will work well with my game, as it helps the player collect and keep items, so they can use them later. Introduction to Me, Myself and I

Hello, I'm Sarah and this my introduction post ! Here's bit of information about me: I live in Dublin, in Ireland and I've live there all my life. I mainly listen to Metal, currently I've been listening to Slipknot newest Album 'We are not your Kind' also known as Vol 6..
